About Me

Who writes this, and what the essays are for.

I am Marc Srour. I write long-form essays on palaeontology, evolutionary theory, historical geology, and the philosophy and history of science.

The essays here are written for readers who want the argument rather than the headline: what the evidence actually is, how it was gathered, where it is thin, and which questions in the field are still genuinely open. Where a finding is easier to see than to describe, it comes with a visualisation, and every visualisation also states its finding in words for anyone who cannot see or run it.

Everything is organised into eight categories, listed under Categories in the menu above. New essays appear on the front page, newest first, and in the Atom feed.
